The incident took place in April and investigators with the Robbery Suppression Unit indentified Carlos Moya, 24, of Perris as the suspect.

Moya was tracked down and arrested on Tuesday June 11, Sgt. Ryan Hoxmeier stated in a sheriff’s report.

According to Hoxmeier, Moya approached the employee of a strawberry stand just before 5 p.m., Apr. 27 in the 34000 block of Simpson Rd.,  pulled out a gun and demanded money.

“He fled in an older Nissan Altima with two subjects,” Hoxmeier added.

An alert witness noted several numbers of the license plate as the suspects sped away from the scene.

Moya was arrested for armed robbery, felon in possession of a firearm and probation violation.

He was booked into the Southwest Detention Center.
